Their small but delicious vegetarian menu is entirely vegan. All of the entrees, curries, and noodle

Rating: ***1/2 Review: This take out/delivery restaurant serves
“authentic” Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food. Diners here can chose from several
vegetable dishes, “mix and match” tofu with your choice of sauce, or sample
an assortment of curry dishes. A
little on the greasy side, this place is cheap and delivers at the speed of
light. There is a $2 delivery charge,
with a minimum order of $10. Cash
only. (11/15/06) Symphony/Northeastern Boloco Tel: 617-536-6814 Website: www.thewrap.com Hours: My Rating: ***1/2 Review: Formerly known as The Wrap, Boloco serves
up a variety of burritos that run from basic (beans & rice,) to inventive
(Asian slaw, peanut sauce, cucumbers).
All burritos are available with tofu instead of meat. The Bangkok and Teriyaki burritos are
vegan, and several others can easily be made vegan by leaving off the
cheese. There’s also the option to
“build your own” if you’re feeling extra fussy. Everything is made to order, so your food
won’t be sad and soggy. Not bad for a
chain restaurant. 8/04/07 Betty’s Wok and Noodle Diner Tel: 617-424-1950 Website: www.bettyswokandnoodle.com Hours: Tue-Thu My Rating: ***1/2 Review: Betty’s isn’t
really a diner, but
it does sport a sort of upscale diner décor.
They serve Chinese-style noodle dishes that are unique because you get
to pick your own veggies - literally.
After ordering a base dish (your choice of noodles or rice and sauce),
you select your own veggies and other toppings and then hand them over to the
chef who turns them into a delicious noodle stir-fry dish. You can also add in tofu, and meat eaters
have some options too. The food is
pretty delicious, but seems a little pricy for what it is. However, the place is cute and has a good “date” atmosphere. Tel: 617-536-3577 Website: n/a Hours: My Rating: ***1/2 Review: Located across
from Northeastern, this Middle Eastern restaurant offers fast, cheap
food. If you can get past the giant
chunks of meat (usually whole chickens) which is often roasting in the front
window, you’ll be pleased with their vegetarian menu and its many vegan
options. For only $3.99 you can dine
of a variety of sandwiches including Falafel, Fool Moudamas, Vegetarian
Kibby, and Baba Ghanouj. Add Hommus or
Baba to any sandwich for only $0.50, or turn it into a dinner plate for
$6.99. Northeastern students will be
pleased to know that Boston Shawarma accepts Husky Cards, and the rest of us
can find solace in the fact that they offer free delivery. (03/02/06) Click

of Mexican fast-food restaurant with over 200 locations across the
country. While it’s owned by Jack in
the Box, the food and atmosphere at Q’Doba is a far cry from what you might
expect at their parent company’s burger chain locations. Both of their vegetarian burritos are
vegan, as is the tortilla soup. Since
your food is made right in front of you with “fresh” ingredients, you can
customize your meal and be certain that no one is slipping any dairy into your
food. I’m not terribly impressed with
their food – it’s oddly oily, and what my friend Boogie would call “White-boy
Mexican food”. Located directly across

good selection of Middle-Eastern style vegetarian roll-ups, many of which are
vegan. Some of their roll-up options
are pretty typical, such falafel or hummus. However, the Roasted Eggplant,
Armenian Veggie, Mansour’s Veggie, and Lebanese Veggie provide for slightly
more interesting fare. Sadly, the rest
of their menu isn’t particularly vegan-friendly. Delivery is available on orders with a $10

or before a night out. My friend

Northeastern and the Boston Medical Center, this take out/delivery restaurant
offers a half dozen vegan dishes that are surprisingly decent…not at all the
greasy slop you’d expect to find at the kind of place that is open and
delivers until 2am (a rarity in the city Boston). The perfect place to order from during
those late night study sessions. (11/15/06) Wheeler’s Frozen
